Onion Chutney
Onion chutney is loaded with flavours and is prepared using urad dal, onion, tamarind, red chillies, mustard seeds and a little salt. This side dish recipe can be prepared in just 20 minutes, and the colour of this chutney varies as some use more red chillies in it. Ingredients
- 1 Onion
- 2 Green Chillies
- 2 Dry Red Chilies
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 2 tsp Urad Daal
- 1 Piece Dry Tamarind
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Brown Sugar
- 1 tbsp Oil
Preparation
- Chop the onions coarsely.
- In a pan heat the oil & add 1 tsp of urad dal & chilies.
- Fry for a minute.
- Add the onions & salt.
- Fry till all the ingredients get mixed & raw smell of onions are gone.
- Let it cool completely . Add the tamarind ,brown sugar & grind it to a fine paste.
- Do the seasoning with the other tsp of urad dal, mustard seeds in a tsp of oil.
