PYAZ GOSHT/STEW (Beef Stew w/ Onion)
Ingredients:
Beef/chicken — 2 lbs
1 medium ginger (adrak) — sliced
1 medium garlic (lassun) — sliced
1 lb onions (pyaz) — sliced but not finely
Broken whole red pepper — ~8 pieces
Salt — 2 tsp
Yoghurt — 0.5-1 lb
Black pepper, cloves, chhoti ilaichi (all whole)
Cumin seeds (zeera) — 2 tsp
Method:
Put oil in pan and put everything in at once. Zeera can be added at the end
if desired. Add some water for beef but not for chicken. When the chicken
or beef is tender, fry the masala. If chicken starts to break up then remove
it first and put back later.
