Gurudwara Patshahi Chhevin Village Kanga |
Guru Hargobind Sahib stayed in village Kangar for 3 months with Raja Rai Jodh of Kangar. It is here that Bhai Bidhi Chand brought the horses Dilbagh and Gulbargh from Lahore on the order of Guru Hargobind Singh Ji. Due to this very incident, Emperor Jahangir got annoyed and sent his forces to retrieve the horses. General Lal Beg and Kamar Beg were sent to accomplish the task. Forces of Guruji and Mughals fought near Mehraj village. The forces of Guruji, which included a strong cavalry of 500 horses of Rai Jodh, won the battle. Guruji killed Lalbeg and Rai Jodh killed Kamar Beg in the battle. After winning the battle, Guruji came back to village Kangar and blessed Raja Rai Jodh with a Katar. This Katar is still preserved with the family of Raja Rai Jodh. From here Guruji moved to Takhatupura. Important annual events, which are held, are Prakash Divas of Guru Hargobind Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
