GURDWARA SAHIB BUKIT BERUNTUNG, SELANGOR
No. 35 Jalan Kanthan 2G, BB2, 48300 Bukit Beruntung, Selangor
Bukit Beruntung is about 20 Kilometers from the town of Rawang and approximately 15 Kilometers from Serendah. In the 1990s, Bukit Beruntung was developed into a residential cum commercial area. Presently, there are about 30 Sikh families residing in Bukit Beruntung and the adjacent Bukit Sentosa areas.
In early 2003, some of the Sikh families decided to establish a Gurdwara Sahib in Bukit Beruntung. A committee comprising of Sardar Sukhdev Singh Thind, Harpreet Singh Taggar, Hari Singh Sidhu, Major Lakhbir Singh Sekhon and Pratap Singh Momi was formed to finalise this matter. Finally, on 1" September 2003, a 1 1/2 storey factory lot was rented for RM300.00 per month. This building was renovated and converted into a Gurdwara Sahib to serve as a place of prayer until such time as a suitable permanent site is found.
The official opening ceremony of this Gurdwara Sahib was performed by the Panj Piyarae from the Sikh Naujawan Sabha Malaysia. A Sri Akhand Path was held from 3rd to 5th October 2003 to commemorate this occasion.
The weekly prayers are held on Sunday evenings from 7.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Other religious programmes are held as and when necessary at the request of the Sikh sangat.
