The Dharamsala Gurdwara is managed by a Trust known as ‘The Registered Board of Trustees of Havela Singh s/o Thakardas Dharamsala’.
This Trust also operates a free medical clinic, which has two paid doctors to treat needy patients.
The Dharamsala Gurdwara is located in the Penthouse on the 8th Floor of Wisma Thakardas and is 45’6" x 84′ in size.
This Gurdwara Sahib was built with personal donations by a well-known textile merchant, late Sardar Havela Singh s/o Thakardas. The foundation stone of Wisma Thakardas was laid in April 1973 by the late Havela Singh and the building was officially declared open by him in 1974. The Dharamsala Gurdwara was established in 1975.
There are presently about 50 Sikh families who participate in the religious activities in this Gurdwara Sahib.
The present Board of Directors comprises of the Chairman Dr Harbajan Singh and three Trustees, Sardar Surjeet Singh, Sardar Ranjit Singh and Sardar Gurpal Singh.
Giani Sukhdaiv Singh, who presently manages the `Gurpuri’ centre for poor and neglected Sikh children, served as a Granthi in this Gurdwara Sahib. Giani Daljit Singh is presently the Granthi in this Dharamsala.
The normal weekly prayers are held every Sunday from 8.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. The Sangrand and Pooranmasi programmes are held in the morning from 6.00 a.m. to 7.30 a.m. and commence with the Asa Di War followed by the Ardas.
