Gurdwara Chubara Sahib, Machhiwara, Dist. Ludhiana
A Sikh named Gulaba Singh lived in the town of Machhiwara and provided Guru Gobind Singh and his three Sikhs refuge in his house at this spot while the enemy where prowling the countryside looking for the Guru with orders to capture or kill him
Gurdwara Chaubara Sahib, is situated in the old town of Machiwara in Ludhiana District. It is connected by road to Ludhiana-Chandigarh highway at Samrala (42 Kms.) and to Ropar (46 Kms.) by Guru Gobind Singh Marg.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji came to Machiwara after his escape from Chamkaur Sahib. He first stopped in a garden about one mile east of the town.
Guruji along with Bhai Daya Singh, Bhai Dharam Singh and Bhai Man Singh moved into the house of Bhai Gulaba, a former Masand. Gurdwara Chaubara Sahib is the site of Bhai Gulaba’s house. Guruji and his two companions stayed here. From here Guruji went to house of Ghani Khan and Nabi Khan where he disguised himself as the Pir of Uchch. The pot in which clothes were dyed is stilll preserved here. Gurpurabs of first, fifth and tenth Patshahis are celebrated here
