The gurudwara was founded in 1914 by the early sikh immigrants. Religious celebrations include, among other activities, Gurpurbs, Jodhmeals, Akhand Path. Social functions such as marriages are organized. Community services are offered for Guru-ka-Langer, school and library. An annual Baisakhi festival is also celebrated. Suitable accommodation is available for visitors. There are about 400 members of the sikh community in the area.
