1. Why mourn the death of others?

the departed do not hear you, It is only the living who listens.

4. of what use are all the valuable things, Which you put on the corpse?

5. Ah me, why are you wailing? All that you beheld is false and transcient;
Remember His Nam which only is true,

6. He, who is born has to die, Then why weep and wail?

7. Why are you crying, When only His Will is done?

8. Why do you cry?
The soul is and will be.
You will weep for others,
But who will weep for you?
Your weeping is of no avail, O brother,
You practice falsehood.
